Here’s the Kings vs. the Pacific Division update!

So, they need more wins.

Maroon 5 (feat. Rihanna) – If I Never See Your Face Again

Do you know what joy is? Joy is realizing that this is the last time the Kings will play the Flames this season. Happy day!

The Kings spend the first night of their last back-to-back in Calgary. Whichever team wins this game gets to be winner for the regular season series. So far, the road team has come away victorious in the four previous games, which should favor the Kings. Being the better team should also favor the Kings, but this group has been prone to letting the Flames score late goals this season.

Either way, the Kings are going to the playoffs, and the Flames aren’t. Ha ha!

Pink – Don’t Let Me Get Me

At this point, the Kings are playing for the Jennings Trophy and to set a personal best for the most regular season wins in franchise. Right now they have four less goals against on the season than the Boston Bruins. That race will probably be tight through to the last game. The Kings need to win at least of two their final three games to set the wins record. This team has been fairly good at tying records and not setting new ones this season, and with fairly easy competition for the next few days, the only thing that can ruin this for the Kings is the Kings.

Defenseman Drew Doughty has been out with an upper body injury, causing a little bit of a shakeup among the defenseman. Still, the Kings played without him for most of the game against the Sharks last week and still dominated much of the play. As long as they don’t play quite as sleepy as they did in Vancouver, things look good for them to snap their two-game losing streak.

Earth, Wind, and Fire – Shining Star

Not to sound like an elementary school teacher during lunchtime dodgeball, but really the Kings should just have fun. This last week doesn’t mean anything for the postseason, so why not enjoy it? Crush a lesser team because it’s exciting.

If everyone could also spend all night trying to set up Anze Kopitar, then I’d appreciate it. Boston’s Patrice Bergeron is ending his season on a career-best points streak, and a recent straw poll from TSN’s Bob McKenzie shows that he’s the apple of coaches’ eyes. Everyone get on board with the #SmoothSelke Kopitar push. Hell, apparently Kopitar still doesn’t even stand out against Jonathan Toews to some folks, which is absurd.

That’s a damn shame. So, have fun, trample the Flames, and aim to find out how Kopitar would celebrate four goals. That’s the mission.
