Coyotes at Kings: Andre!!!
Kings: 1, Coyotes: 0
On the podcast posted this morning, we said we wanted to see Andy Andreoff finally score before the end of the season. We didn’t even have to wait 24 more hours.
Hilariously, Andreoff sort of fanned on the shot, but it still found its way past the goal line. HA HA, MIKE SMITH.
Sorry, that was mean. Smith played a really good game for the Arizona Coyotes, stopping 34 of 35 shots on goal. He’s been much stronger through a recent stretch of games after a highly disappointing season. The only reason the Coyotes stayed in this game was because Smith gave them a chance.
Still, thanks to Andreoff’s first career goal and Jonathan Quick playing strong in net, the Kings walked out with a win. The two points pushed them back into the playoffs.
LA sure knows how to make one-sided gm suspenseful. Overall EV scoring chances: #LAKings 13 #Coyotes 4. By period: LAK 5-4-4, ARI 1-2-1

But who really cares about what happened in the rest of this quiet game? Let’s bask in Andreoff’s joy at scoring.
He’s so happy! It’s really charming.
Quick earned his sixth shutout of the season, and Andreoff got to be a hero. It wasn’t the drubbing it probably should’ve been, but the Kings still found a way to make it special.
