Tonight, the Kings take on the Dallas Stars, and if it could be a repeat of what happened last time, that’d be alright by me. I mean, you can’t have a Holiday Pyrotechnic & Laser Light Show and not win.
Miley Cyrus – The Climb
I guess because I don’t pay attention to them enough, I’m constantly confused by the Dallas Stars. I’ll be watching highlights, and it’s hat tricks left and right, a rookie on fire & Kari Lehtonen deciding that his job here is done.
Then, a glimpse at the standings show that they’re trying, but they’re still struggling at 5 points out from a playoff spot. Dream big Stars, old-school Miley believes in you!
Spin Doctors – Two Princes
Any jump that the Stars do have come primarily from the Stars’ two big guys, Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn. Between the two of them, they are responsible for 29% of the team’s goals and 25% of the points. I’m gonna go ahead and say that 2 guys probably shouldn’t be shouldering the responsibilities of 5.
Tyler Seguin is 8th in the League in goals and 12th in points and already has two hat tricks this year. Jamie Benn apparently strikes fear (or at least hearty competition) into the heart of Drew Doughty, so if the Kings can use their Top Defensive Team abilities to shut the two of them down, that’s half the battle right there.
The Smiths – Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want
On the Kings end of things, I keep trekking out to catch home games in the hopes of seeing that elusive first Trevor Lewis goal, but to no avail. Maybe tonight’s the night? Those lasers are for you Trevor Lewis! In lieu of that, I’ll take Martin Jones winning tonight and setting records.
Jones’ 8-0-0 start ties an NHL record for consecutive winning GAMES to start a career (Bob Froese also started 8-0-0 with PHI in 1982-83)

I don’t even care about the Ray Emery record because it’s dumb, but Martin Jones go ahead and wreck that one too. If T. Lewie won’t do anything, Martin Jones, PLEASE just give us all this beautiful holiday gift of holding this record. Also, a shutout would be cool too, no pressure.
