Hurricanes at Kings: Trevor Lewis Strikes Again
The Kings played one last home game before heading off on a 3 game road trip before the holidays, and they left on a good note. The Kings struck first this time around and with the man advantage since the Kings’ power play seems to be on some sort of roll. What a time to be alive. Jarret Stoll slips one past Ward off of an excellent pass from Dustin Brown from behind the net. It’s another game where Stoll stays out of the penalty box and gets a goal instead. Yes, it’s been a week since this happened prior, but I’m still baffled.
Once again, Quick puts out a spectacular performance this game, but a few did slip past him. Jeff Skinner comes in on a 2 on 1 and looks like he’s going to pass it, but instead he wrists it right past Quick, and they go into the 2nd period tied with one apiece.
It was a flurry of goals in the first 5 minutes of the second with American Hero Trevor Lewis sneaking one past Ward just 37 seconds into the game. There was a bit of suspense with this goal as the refs made sure that there was no distinct kicking, but really it was just buildup so that the Staples Center could give Lewis one more rowdy applause break.
And how did top-liner, Trevor Lewis do it?
"Because it hit my stick and went in the net". Trevor Lewis is brilliant and he said it with a smile. #LAKings

Hmmmm, smart hockey play.
A couple of minutes later, Eric Staal ties it up for Carolina, but look out! It’s Tanner “Can You Even Believe That They Were Thinking of Scratching Me” Pearson with a phenomenal goal batted out of mid-air to retake the lead again. After a crazy hot start, followed by a 12 game goal drought, Tanner Pearson is getting back in it.
After this, there were some excellent scoring chances on both ends, but Quick and Ward say no for the rest of the game, not allowing a single goal.
First star of the game and first star of our hearts Trevor Lewis scored a goal and had a team high, 6 shots, but more importantly, we get to add one more goal to our Trevor Lewis Points Tracker:
You’re on pace to break your goals per season record Lewis, you can do it!
