Kings at Sharks: Forgot What Winning Felt Like For A While

Hey! It’s a win! Haven’t seen one of those in a while! Another thing that the Kings haven’t seen in a while is a goal, and they better be happy seeing only one of them last night because that’s all they seem to be able to manage these days.

Anze Kopitar saves the day with a goal again, thus ending the Kings’ scoreless streak and becoming the only one not on Jonathan Quick’s shit list.

Quick was absolutely phenomenal in goal for the Kings from the beginning to the end, down to the very last second with a left pad save that prevented me from throwing myself in the ocean if a Shark had scored. Even better yet, Quick made a great save 2 minutes into the first on Bracken Kearns, and then did my favorite thing, oh so casually and sassily tossing that puck out onto the ice.

IPECrW9This is always what I imagine he’s thinking.

The Kings continue to not be able to score, but even without delving into the whys and hows over not being able to buy a goal, luck really wasn’t on their side. 4 shots clanged off of the post, including on on an empty net by Kopitar. If that’s not Kings typical, then I don’t know what is.

In brand new news, the Kings were granted with 5 instances with the man advantage and wasn’t able to capitalize on any of them. I’m sure you’re shocked. In all honesty, the Kings’ play was just as weird and sloppy as usual (for them right now), but Kopitar managed to provide some offense, and Quick won this one for them. It worked/it was just enough to win tonight, but squeaking by like this can’t possibly be sustainable.
