Thin Lizzy – The Boys are Back In Town

After a nice little Olympic hiatus (where things didn’t end up quite like we wanted), we’re back to some good ole NHL hockey. After a little vacation apart, the team is back: some of them losers, some of them winners, and some just tanner than before.

DevOpsDays-BluesBrothers-AThey’re also Tanner than before (I know, I’m getting back into the swing of this) as Tanner Pearson, along with Linden Vey, Tyler Toffoli and Martin Jones, gets the call up from Manchester. One guy missing from the usual line up is Colin Fraser who is still stuck in the polar vortex of the east. This will never stop being funny.

Simple Minds – Don’t You Forget About Me

Despite the (quite frankly surprising) win before the break, the Kings’ problems still applies, and that problem is being a pathetic 29th in goals. “Oh cool, dudes from the second to last team in goals going to the Olympics? That should be a laugh!” said everyone ever going into the Olympics. Well, they were sort of right because joke’s on us Kings fans.

Dustin Brown was able to score 2 goals for the USA while Jeff Carter netted a hat trick in Canada’s game against Austria. Drew Doughty dominated for Team Canada with 4 goals, including an OT winner. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Martin Jones tallies another assist, Tyler Toffoli gets a hat trick (on the same day as Carter’s no less), and is named the AHL player of the week with points in 3 games.

NONE OF THESE POINTS AND GOALS WERE FOR THE KINGS.

While I’m delighted for everyone individually, if everyone could just come back to the team, ready to do the same to help the Kings secure a playoff spot, that’d be swell.

The Pointer Sisters – I’m So Excited

In all honesty, I’m just super amped to get back to watching Kings games again. For all the guys that made the rest of us jealous with their updates from exotic locales, here’s hoping that the break invigorated them into scoring goals! For those that went to Olympics, please let them remember how great it was to score goals and come back and do that for the Kings! Let those Manchester guys help the team secure a playoff spot and not give it up to the damn Canucks or Coyotes! But most of all, I’m excited to go back to sitting in the Staples Center or at home, beer in hand, shit-talking and agonizing over my favorite team. Go Kings!
